A couple weeks ago you might recall a Wednesday where the forecast highs were around 100* with “real feel” temperatures well into the triple digits. That just happened to be the day that Kristie and David were scheduled for their engagement session.
I headed up to Washington D.C. to meet Kristie and David early in the morning – in fact it was about 6:30am. When I walked out of my house it was already in the 80’s and I knew it would be a hot one. As I drove up to Georgetown, I heard report after report of the record temperatures. When I met up with Kristie and David – they had heard the forecast as well.
Due to the extreme heat we had a little bit of a different engagement session. We started in Georgetown down by the water and stuck to the shady areas in an effort to stay as cool as possible. They picked Georgetown due to their connections to the area. It just so happens that David grew up and went to school in the Georgetown area. They also got engaged after paddling up to an island in the Potomac river. They also participated in the Marine Corp Marathon and ran frequently in the area.
Even with the hot day, Kristie and David were full of ideas and up for taking photos all over. As it got hotter and hotter we decided to take a break and get lunch. Luckily the place where we ate had the AC pumping and it gave us all a chance to cool off. After lunch we returned to the streets of Georgetown and went up by Georgetown University. We wrapped up the session back down by the water for a playful Redskins/Cowboys rivalry – which was easily won by the Redskins! 😉
Congratulations Kristie and David! I’m so excite for your wedding late this year!
