Whitney and Jake met in the military and Jake proposed to her on a hot day at the Botanical Gardens in Washington DC. He waited patiently for about 30 minutes with all of their friends and family to surprise her and propose.
Similar to the hot day that he proposed, all of their closest family and friends gathered on a very hot day at Trump Winery, just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia for their wedding. We all jumped in and out of the AC to try to stay somewhat cool and with the perfect timeline from Cinda at White Birch Events, everything went smooth. A huge shout out to the hair and makeup team – even in the hot conditions Whitney and her bridesmaids looked amazing and their hair and makeup held up through everything!
One of the best aspects of the Grand Hall at Trump Winery is that it is on top of a hill. Being up high brought a few welcome breezes throughout the ceremony that kept things relatively nice. As a surprise to guests, they did a butterfly release at the end of the ceremony. While some butterflies decided they wanted to fly – most needed a bit of coaxing. It made for some fun memories and amazing pictures (see the one with the butterfly on Whitney’s hand).
The reception was a first for Trump Winery as they used the smaller of the two ballrooms. With the gorgeous chandelier hanging above the dance floor, Whitney, Jake, their friends and family danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Tobler. They even had a photo booth that was a huge hit for people of all ages!
Congratulations to Whitney and Jake! I wish you both all the best. Thank you for letting us capture these amazing wedding memories!
